As a Marine veteran, I consider, myself fortunate to have never been in a job that put me in harm's way. However, I am well aware that the experiences of combat and traumatic situations can have a profound impact on the mental health of our veterans. Upon returning home, I noticed that many of my comrades were struggling with various issues, ranging from PTSD, depression, and substance abuse.
It was a heartbreaking moment when I saw one of my closest childhood friends, who served in the Army, battling with drug addiction. Witnessing his struggles and experiencing the challenges within the VA system, ignited a fire within me to make a difference in the lives of my fellow veterans.
With a resolve to help those who have sacrificed so much for our country, I embarked on a journey to advocate for better mental health support and services for veterans. Through my own experiences and witnessing the hardships faced by not just myself but many others, I have dedicated myself to being a beacon of hope and support for those who have served our nation with honor and bravery.
If you or someone you know can benefit from our organization, I look forward to speaking with you.
Thank you and with love,
Jimmy Johnston
